WHS EdArt Ink’s Philosophy

We believe in the of lighting up your child’s brain and not their phone, tablet, and game computer screens. A child’s learning should not stop, and boredom start due to school summer closure; we are here to relieve some of those burdens for parents and challenges for high school students and would-be authors.

Mission Statement

Find Your Center at Our Center

for Tutoring in Life Skills

and Mentoring in First-book Writing and Publishing Processes

Our mission as a private, not-for-profit, virtual company is to offer free support to individuals of all ages and educational levels who seek assistance in non-curriculum tutoring in life skills for online summer out-of-school/school closure activities and mentoring in non-fictional print (not Ebooks, comic books, yearbooks, or magazines) book-writing and independent publishing processes as a summer project.
The difference between fictional and nonfictional writing is that the former is based on imagination (novels, mysteries, SCI-FI, romance, fantasy, cartoon/comics/superheroes, thrillers). The latter is based in fact and is the broadest category of literature (education/academics, theories, history, culture, art/music/crafts, self-help, ancestry, biography, health/fitness, nature/flora and fauna, weather, proverbs, society, social commentary, business, culinary art, sports, languages, travel, home improvement/decorating, religion, self-help, real crime, humor). Note that poetry can fit into either of the two categories.

We create educational content materials, expressed digitally online, to communicate value to our target audience. Our tutors and mentors have over 30 years of experience in education and arts to disseminate to our high school students. WHS EDArt’s goal is to provide a lifetime of real-life learning beyond the workspace, impact cutting-edge knowledge, and impart understanding from a worldview perspective. As a guide by the side consultant, we provide our high school students and first-time authors with feedback at each stage of their chosen path.

Vision Statement

WHS EdArt Ink aspires to continue the legacy of Enid Ranger-Jones, founder of Windsor High School in Jamaica (my alma mater) and become a leader in our communities by imagining a future with a shared destiny in education and the arts. By instilling our core values, we will meet our high school students where they are and raise their competencies to meet and exceed those of the competitive forces as they become valued citizens in society.

The Five Houses

  • The Ranger Jones House – representing our Founders

  • The Williams House – representing our Principal/Administration

  • The Sterling House – representing our Faculty

  • The Lee House – representing our Student Academics and diverse cultures

  • Chung Fah House – representing Student Extracurricular Activities (all work and no play makes Jack and Jill dull students)

The Houses will serve as competitive pillars for intellectual challenges such as Building Ants, Spelling Bees, and achieving G.O. A. T. – Greatest of All Times games. The goal is to help encourage students’ academic and social successes, develop strong interpersonal skills and healthy relationships to develop closer bonds and promote servant leadership skills and peer group interaction.

Parents FAQ

Courses are offered in English only. Just as the school system has micro-schools with a small group of high students meeting in person to set daily goals and collaborate on activities and creative projects, which is headed by an adult tutor/mentor, we offer the alternative micro-classrooms with a small group of high school students (up to 10) meeting virtually to collaborate on activities and creative projects/experiments. We are a mom-and-pop-type business similar to a homeschool co-op that is home-based/location-free and offers personalized out-of-school (summer) learning in a safe, friendly, online environment.

Target Audience

Because WHS was a Jamaican high school, we are targeting the niche market of children of Jamaican parentage for tutoring and the same for our adult mentoring population. This way, they can enjoy the best of both worlds by keeping up with the Jamaican culture, meshed with the American culture. Through this approach, WHS EdArt Ink will continue the goals of the defunct WHS and will give back to Jamaica through immigrant families. WHS, unfortunately, went up in flames over 50 years ago. Note that our classes are in English only.
